    El Concilio Vaticano II impulsó una renovación teológica en perspectiva del discernimiento de los signos de los tiempos a partir de una lectura de la historia y de la cultura reconociendo en ella la acción de Dios. Dicha experiencia eclesial de discernimiento, fue recibida creativamente por la Iglesia latinoamericana en la Conferencia General de los Obispos en Medellín en 1968. La Iglesia latinoamericana aprendió a reconocer el paso de Dios en la historia y en el contexto de sus pueblos y culturas. En esta perspectiva, nuestra propuesta busca un diálogo entre la pedagogía y la teología desde la obra de Paulo Freire, el cual acuñó la categoría de “lectura del mundo”. A partir de dicha categoría, se pretende pensar una teología del discernimiento de los signos de tiempos a partir de la “lectura del mundo” de Paulo Freire como posibilidad de una relectura creativa y teológica de los postulados del pedagogo brasileño.

    The Vatican Council II promoted a theological renewal in perspective of the insight of the signs of times from the reading of the history and the culture recognizing in it the action of God. Such insight of ecclesial experience was received creatively by the Latin American Church, at the Bishops General Conference in Medellin in 1968. The Latin American church learned to recognize the action of God in history and in the context of his people and cultures. In this perspective, our proposal seeks for a dialog between the pedagogy and the theology based on Paulo Freire’s work, which coined the category of “Reading the World”. Based on this category, it is intended to consider a theology of the insight of the signs of the times based on the “reading the world” by Paulo Freire as a possibility of a creative and theological re-interpretation of the tenets written by the Brazilian pedagogue.
