    En las primeras páginas de su libro Mujer y filosofía en el pensamiento iberoamericano, Raúl Fornet-Betancourt se pregunta si no sería “la pausa del silencio”, quizá, la mejor manera de hacer frente a la colonización patriarcal que ha erguido la voz del hombre como la única existente. También, en otros espacios, ha insistido en la importancia de “dejar hablar” o de “escuchar las voces silenciadas” y, para eso, entre otras formas de disposición, ha mostrado nuevamente la relevancia del silencio. En este escrito destacaré esa filosofía de Fornet-Betancourt, la que, me parece, muestra también cierta vocación y acto de humildad que caracterizan no solo su obra, sino su vida entregada a la búsqueda de la verdad.

    In the first pages of his book Woman and Philosophy in Ibero-American Thought, Raúl Fornet-Betancourt wonders if "the pause of silence" might not be the best way to deal with the patriarchal colonization that has raised the voice of man as the only one in existence. Also, in other spaces, he has insisted on the importance of "letting speak" or "listening to the silenced voices" and, for that, among other forms of disposition, he has once again shown the relevance of silence. In this writing I will highlight Fornet-Betancourt's philosophy, which, it seems to me, also shows a certain vocation and act of humility that characterize not only his work, but his life dedicated to the search for truth.
