    En este artículo se presentan los principales resultados de una concepción para el desarrollo del pensamiento matemático avanzado (PMA), en la formación inicial de profesionales de la ingeniería. Mediante la utilización de métodos como la sistematización, el análisis documental, el hipotético-deductivo y el sistémico-estructural funcional, se realiza una sistematización de algunas concepciones teóricas sobre dicho tipo de pensamiento hasta llegar a su definición y caracterización en términos didácticos; posteriormente, se describe la relación que existe entre el desarrollo de las características esenciales del PMA y la creatividad matemática.

    This article presents the main results of a conception for the development of advanced mathematical thinking (PMA), in the initial training of engineering professionals. Through the use of methods such as systematization, documentary analysis, hypothetical-deductive and systemic-structural functional, a systematization of some theoretical conceptions about this type of thought is carried out until reaching its definition and characterization in didactic terms; Subsequently, the relationship between the development of the essential characteristics of the PMA and mathematical creativity is described.
