  • Resumen
    • In recent years, tourism researchers around the globe have given increasing attention to the notion of the memorable tourism experience (MTE). Various factors and dimensions underpinning the MTE and the scale to measure the MTE have been developed. However, existing research has implicitly assumed that the factors that affect the MTE are reflective in nature. This article explores an alternative view that the factors used to measure the MTE are formative instead. Findings from data collected from a sample of 260 respondents confirm our assumption about the formative structure of the MTE. This study also explores the moderating roles of various sociodemographic variables on the relationship between the MTE and revisit intention. The results indicate that gender and country of residence are significant moderating variables. The results of this study advance our knowledge of the MTE, highlighting theoretical and practical implications.
