The learning process has proved to be highly effective when the students solve real-world problems, because these cases stimulate and motivate the students to a greater extent. Starting from this premise, this paper presents an innovation project for the lectures of Fluid Mechanics taught in the Engineering Bachelor Degrees at the Universidad de Oviedo, in the specialties of Electrical, Electronics and Automatic, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering. It is intended to introduce the students to the fluid dynamics of biological flows, basicaly using CFD simulation tools. It will be centered on airflow in the lung airways, and it will comprise the development of new teaching material, encouraging student interest, developing the skills and competences, etc. At the end of the classes, the extent of the satisfaction, motivation and knowledge adquired by the students will be assessed with surveys and data collection on student interaction.
