    El presente artículo está vinculado con la niñez y el trabajo, aportando conceptos de una y otra categoría, estableciendo las regulaciones legales para determinar la posibilidad de trabajar en el ser humano y a partir de qué edad se obtiene la madurez legal y mental, psicológica y social, suficientes para poder trabajar de forma remunerada. Para ello no solo se ha consultado la legislación ecuatoriana, sino que además se ha valorado la tendencia internacional acerca del tratamiento legal y del comportamiento práctico de los que en la actualidad se conoce como trabajo infantil.PALABRAS CLAVE: trabajo infantil; edad para trabajar; capacidad legal.

    CHILD LABOR IN ECUADORABSTRACTThis article is linked to childhood and work, contributing concepts from one category to another, establishing the legal regulations to determine the possibility of working in the human being and from what age the legal, mental, psychological and social maturity is obtained, enough to be able to work in a remunerated way. Not only has Ecuadorian legislation been consulted, but the trend in the region regarding the legal treatment and practical behavior of what is now known as child labor has also been valued.KEYWORDS: child labor; age to work; legal capacity.
