    El objetivo de este estudio fue investigar el Accionar del Trabajador Social y la Deserción Escolar de los Adolescentes Infractores en la Unidad Zonal de Desarrollo Integral (UZDI) Zona 4 Manabí-Santo Domingo del Ministerio de Justicia, Derechos Humanos y Cultos del Ecuador, en la ciudad de Portoviejo periodo 2016-2017. La investigación de tipo descriptiva apoyada en el método bibliográfico, la observación como método empírico, el diálogo como metodología cualitativa, y la cuantificación de datos de la matriz UZDI; fueron relevante para conocer de manera pertinente la situación de los adolescente, el porcentaje de desertores del ámbito educativo y el Rol del Trabajador Social durante su intervención.PALABRAS CLAVE: Adolescentes infractores; deserción; educación; trabajo social; intervención; accionar.

    THE ACTION OF THE SOCIAL WORKER AND THE SCHOOL DROPOUT OF THE INFRINGING ADOLESCENTSABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to research the desertion of adolescents in violation of the Educational system and the Social Worker’s action in the zonal unit of integral development (UZDI) zone 4 Manabí-Santo Domingo of the Ministry of Justice, human rights and Cults of Ecuador, in the city of Portoviejo period 2016-2017. The research of descriptive type supported in the bibliographic method, observation as an empirical method, the dialogue as a qualitative methodology, and the quantification of matrix data UZDI; were relevant to know in a relevant way the situation of adolescents, the percentage of deserters in the educational field and the role of the Social Worker during his intervention.KEYWORDS: Adolescents offenders; desertion; education; social work; intervention; activate.
