Resumen de Diálogos entre la novela chilena y brasileña actual: una lectura de De mim já nem se lembra y Chilean Electric

En este artículo se presenta una mirada comparativa y crítica sobre algunas de las directrices que siguen la narrativa chilena y brasileña actual (así como en general del Cono Sur), a través del análisis particular de dos novelas breves, De mim já nem se lembra (2007, revisada y ampliada en 2016), del brasileño Luiz Ruffato, y Chilean Electric (2015), de la autora chilena Nona Fernández. En ellas se analizarán aspectos formales y temáticos que configuran propuestas tan estéticas como políticas, y que se vinculan con diferentes escrituras contemporáneas. En particular, se discutirán dimensiones como las nuevas modalidades del realismo y la representación (realismo indicial), los límites/diálogos entre memoria, historia y ficción (autoficción), y la posible recuperación (ficcional) del sujeto en tanto subjetividad e identidad.

This article presents a comparative critical view of some directions taken by Brazilian and Chilean contemporary fiction (in the context of the Southern Cone as a whole), through the interpretation of two novellas, namely De mim já nem se lembra (2007, revised and expanded in 2016) by Luiz Ruffato, and Chilean Electric (2015) by Nona Fernández. I analyze formal and thematic aspects of these novellas that convey aesthetic and political stances, establishing links to other contemporary narratives. Specifically, I discuss elements pertaining to new forms of Realism and Representation (indexal realism), the limits and intermingling of Memory, History, and Fiction (Autofiction) and the possibility of the Fictional Recovery of the Self, both as subjectivity and identity.
