    El año 132 d.C. los judíos de Judea se rebelaron de nuevo contra los romanos, dando comienzo a la revuelta de Bar Kojba. Los rebeldes, capitaneados por Simón Bar Kojba, se hicieron fuertes en algunas fortalezas y comenzaron a reacuñar todas las monedas de plata y bronce en circulación que llegaron a sus manos sustituyendo los tipos y leyendas originales por otros alusivos a los líderes de la revuelta y sus objetivos, que no eran otros que la conquista de Jerusalén, la reconstrucción del Templo a Yavé y la restauración del culto, en torno a los que se organizaría el nuevo estado judío.

    The year 132 AD the Jews of Judea rebelled again against the Romans, beginning the Bar Kochba revolt. The rebels, led by Simon Bar Kokhba, made themselves strong in some fortresses and began to mint all the silver and bronze coins in circulation that came into their hands, replacing the original types and legends with others alluding to the leaders of the revolt and their objectives, which were none other than the conquest of Jerusalem, the reconstruction of the Temple to Yahweh and the restoration of the cult, around which the new Jewish state would be organized.
