Resumen de Do rei, da rainha ou da infanta: o tabelionado de Torres Vedras entre os séculos XIII e XV

Conhecer o tabelionado das vilas e cidades portuguesas é um exercício que vai além da simples análise diplomática da documentação medieval. Na verdade, a análise destes homens permite-nos ter um maior conhecimento sobre os ofícios medievais presentes nas vilas e cidades, as relações sociais e de clientelismo, os parentescos, os recursos económicos que cada um tentava alcançar, o desenvolvimento cultural de determinada zona. Pretendeu-se, nesta reflexão, dar a conhecer o tabelionado torriense que laborou entre os reinados de D. Dinis (1279-1325) e D. Afonso V (1438-1481), analisando as suas carreiras. Com o devido enquadramento dado pelo que se sabe sobre a história medieval da vila, procurou-se conhecer as características gerais do tabelionado torriense e a partir daí estabelecer ligações entre os números do tabelionado torriense e vicissitudes históricas como a Peste Negra, o Cerco de Torres Vedras de 1384 ou quem detinha o poder sobre a vila. Tentou-se também entender os sinais usados pelos oficiais da escrita torrienses e traçar alguns paralelos com signum de tabeliães de Lisboa. Outra problemática abordada foi a das intitulações destes homens: um período particularmente interessante de analisar é o do Interregno de 1383-85. Por fim, procurou-se conhecer a tipologia documental produzida em Torres Vedras e comparar com o que sucedia em outras cidades e vilas do reino.

To know the notary public of Portuguese village and cities is an exercise that goes beyond a simple diplomatic analysis of medieval documentation. In fact, the analysis of these writing officials allows us to have a greater knowledge about the medieval professionals present in the cities, the social and clientelist relations and the economic resources that each one tried to reach, and, at last, the cultural development of a given zone. It is our intended to let known the torriense notary that worked between the reigns of D. Dinis (1279-1325) and D. Afonso V (1438-1481), analyzing their careers. Establish connections between the numbers of the torriense notary public and historical events such as the Black Death, the siege of Torres Vedras of 1384 or who held power over the village. To know and analyze the signum used by Torres Vedras' writing officers and make some parallels with the signum of notaries in Lisbon. Another issue that was attempted was the titles of these men: a particularly interesting period to analyze the forms of titles used by notaries is that of 1383-85. Although, we have notaries of the king, queen and infanta in the period under analysis. We also want to know the documents typology produced in Torres Vedras and compare with what happened in other villages and towns of the kingdom.
