De um limiar de conhecimentos ao criar de outros: como pode vir a ser o mundo físico na perspectiva de povos originários?

    The relationship of knowledge is examined – about nature and the world – of originating civilizations (e.g., Mesopotamian, Egyptian and Chinese) in a period prior to the writing and the greek investigative inquisition of the sixth century BCE. As support for the discussion, artistic portraits of events that occupied public attention in certain historical moments and that are expressed in the form of two-dimensional pictorial representations, such as those adorned in caves, tombs, cylindrical ornaments or illustrated on papyrus, are used. For the evaluation of the images, Erwin Panofsky's iconographic analysis is selected. Examining the information provided, we can verify the predominance of the cosmological-astronomical theme in the aforementioned works; built under a mythic bias and detached from interests and analytical procedures. However, a preliminary and rudimentary form of the scientific basis – utilitarian that puts into practice what was observed and pictorially recorded – is also identified.

    Examina-se a relação de conhecimentos – sobre a natureza e o mundo – de povos originários (e.g., mesopotâmica, egípcia e chinesa) em um período antecedente à escrita e à inquisição investigativa grega do século VI AEC. Como subsídio para a discussão, utilizam-se retratações artísticas de eventos que ocuparam a atenção pública em certos momentos históricos e que se façam expressas sob a forma de representações pictóricas bidimensionais, tais como aquelas adornadas em cavernas, tumbas, ornamentos cilíndricos ou ilustradas em papiros. Para a avaliação das imagens usa-se a análise iconográfica de Erwin Panofsky. Do exame das informações postas, averígua-se a predominância da temática cosmológica-astronômica nas obras supracitadas; construídas sob um viés mítico e desprendidas de interesses e de procedimentos analíticos. Entretanto, também, se identifica uma forma preliminar e rudimentar da base científica – utilitária que coloca em prática aquilo que cotidianamente se observava e pictoricamente se registrava.
