    El presente artículo analiza la posición adoptada oficialmente por Fidel Castro y Salvador Allende frente al tema de los diferentes caminos revolucionarios representados por la Revolución Cubana y la “vía chilena al socialismo”, y hasta qué punto el campo cultural fue considerado estratégico en el estrechamiento de lazos entre los dos países. Defiendo la tesis de que ellos se apoyaron mutuamente y sostuvieron un mismo discurso que afirmaba la diferencia y validez de ambas vías revolucionarias. A nivel cultural, las relaciones se intensificaron entre 1970 y 1973 y tendieron a reforzar la imagen de “pueblos hermanos”. Lejos de simplemente hacer eco del discurso oficial, las instituciones culturales y los intelectuales cubanos y chilenos buscaron activamente hacer real el acercamiento entre los dos procesos, pero en ocasiones acabaron explicitando tensiones que los dirigentes intentaban oculta

    Abstract:This article analyzes the position officially adopted by Fidel Castro and Salvador Allende on the issue of the different revolutionary paths represented by the Cuban Revo-lution and the “Chilean way to socialism”. It also analyzes the extent to which these two countries considered the cultural field strategic to strengthen ties. I argue that Castro and Allende supported each other and maintained the same discourse, which affirmed the two revolutionary paths’ difference and validity. In the cultural field, relations between Cuba and Chile intensified between 1970 and 1973 and tended to reinforce the image of “brother peoples”. Far from merely echoing the official discourse, the Cuban and Chilean cultural in-stitutions and intellectuals actively sought to contribute to concretizing the rapprochement between the two processes. However, on occasions, they ended up making explicit tensions that the rulers tried to hide.
