Resumen de O silenciamento da comunidade LGBTTQ+ no telejornalismo

  Given the fact that every 19 hours a person from the LGBTTQ + community is murdered or suicidal in Brazil, this article aims to analyze the coverage and silencing of the demands of the LGBTTQ + community in television news. To this end, a case study was conducted with the largest broadcaster in Maranhão, TV Mirante. The corpus is composed of journalistic articles broadcasted by the three main news programs of the broadcaster, between 2015 and 2018. This study combine quantitative and qualitative methodological procedures to verify the silencing of news about this social group and its demands, in one of the brazilian states where most people in the LGBTTQ + community die.

  Diante do fato de que a cada 19 horas uma pessoa da comunidade LGBTTQ+ é assassinada ou se suicida no Brasil, este artigo visa analisar a cobertura e o silenciamento das demandas da comunidade LGBTTQ+ no telejornalismo. Para tanto, realizou-se um estudo de caso com a maior emissora do Maranhão, a TV Mirante. O corpus é composto por matérias jornalísticas dos três principais telejornais da emissora, entre os anos de 2015 e 2018. Mesclaram-se procedimentos metodológicos quantitativos e qualitativos que permitiram verificar o silenciamento das notícias sobre este grupo social e de suas demandas em um dos estados onde mais morrem pessoas da comunidade LGBTTQ+.
