  En este capítulo se revisa la Herramienta de Transparencia y Buen Gobiernocomo instrumento de evaluación del desempeño de las instituciones queconforman el Tercer Sector de Acción Social. Se trata de una iniciativa resultadode un proceso de trabajo que se inicia en 2006, y que va teniendo diferentesprocesos de autoevaluación anuales. En primer lugar, el texto revisa losconceptos de Transparencia y Buen Gobierno en términos generales, a partir deaquí se repasan las características de esta herramienta y su metodologíaconcreta. Se trata de ofrecer una revisión de esta herramienta, sus antecedentes,estructura y posibilidades de aplicación, de manera que se entienda su alcance.

  This chapter reviews the Tool for Transparency and Good Governance as aninstrument of evaluation of the performance of the institutions that constitutesthe Third Sector of Social Action. This shows the results from a working processthat starts in 2006, and had different annual self-evaluation processes. Firstly,we analyze the concepts of transparency and good governance in general terms,from this point we review the features of this tool and its particularmethodology. The idea is to offer a review of this tool, its history, structure andpossibilities of application, in order to understand its possibilities ofapplication.
