Resumen de El servicio de neurocirugía del Hospital Universitario Puerta de HierroMajadahonda en el marco de la asistencia neuroquirúrgica en la Comunidad de Madrid

En este trabajo se describen, por un lado, las características principales del Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro-Majadahonda, que ha sido y es un centro pionero y de referencia en la asistencia, la docencia y la investigación de nuestro país. Por otro lado, se hace mención al Servicio de Neurocirugía del Hospital, desde sus orígenes a su estado actual, recalcando sus hitos dentro de la Neurocirugía española. Finalmente, se realiza un análisis de la situación actual de la asistencia neuroquirúrgica en la Comunidad de Madrid y se proponen una serie de cambios en la organización de la misma.

This paper describes, on the one hand, the main characteristics of the Puerta de Hierro-Majadahonda University Hospital, which has been and is a pioneer and reference center in the care, teaching and research of our country. On the other hand, mention is made of the Neurosurgery Service of the Hospital, from its origins to its current state, emphasizing its milestones within Spanish Neurosurgery. Finally, an analysis of the current situation of neurosurgical care in the Community of Madrid is carried out and a series of changes are proposed in the organization of the same.
