Resumen de Validación de la Escala SWING de Interacción Trabajo-Familia en Docentes Universitarios

Emmanuel Silvestre, Vladimir Figueroa Gutiérrez, Oliver Cruz

Resumen alternativo:In this correlational study was validated for the Dominican Republic the SWING questionnaire on work-family interaction with 103 university teachers. With factor analysis was confirmed the Spanish validation of Moreno, Sanz, Rodríguez and Geurts (2009), concerning its four independent factors correlated according to their direction, positive or negative, with good internal consistency on Alpha indices. The correlations with three stressors scales (work overload, role conflict and role ambiguity) and another three scales of consequents (intentions of abandonment, psychological symptomatology and life satisfaction) confirmed its convergent validity. On these scales and demographic variables, it was found on analysis of variance, linear regression and t tests, several differences among precincts, years of service, age and both samples. We suggest research on the relationship of the positive influence of workfamily and psychological symptoms, as on the factors sex, role conflict, years of service and intentions of abandonment, using samples of teachers from other school levels.
