El comportamiento ético de los gerentes comienza por ser individuos transparentes, honestos,respetuosos, corteses, solidarios, responsables valores importante para ser un gerenteético, ya que son este tipo de gerentes los que quieren las organizaciones para hacer frentea las situaciones que el entorno les presente, además de los dilemas éticos asociados con lautilización de tecnologías de vanguardia que desplacen el uso de la mano de obra humana,es por ello que el presente capitulo tiene como objetivo analizar el comportamiento éticode los gerentes, para ellos se abordaron las variables desde los aportes de Cortina(2005),Rodríguez (2008), García y Dolan (2003), entre otros. La ruta metodológica que se siguiófue de tipo descriptivo, con un diseño no experimental, la encuesta se aplicó a una poblaciónde 27 empleados de tres empresas metalmecánicas el municipio Cabimas. El instrumentoestuvo conformado por 14 ítems, el mismo fue validado por expertos y se le aplicó la pruebade confiabilidad a través del método de las dos mitades y la corrección de Pearson que dioresultado 0,97 indicando un alto nivel de confiabilidad. Los resultados arrojaron que los empleadosno consideran que del comportamiento de los gerentes se apegue en su totalidad alconcepto de comportamiento ético, por su parte los gerentes prefieren trabajar con el recursohumano antes que con una planta totalmente automatizada. Se llego a la conclusión que losgerentes pueden mejorar su comportamiento ético hasta llegar a lo que se espera que sea ungerente ético.
The ethical behavior of managers begins by being transparent, honest, respectful, courteous,caring, responsible individuals, important values to be an ethical manager, since itis this type of managers that organizations want to face the situations that the environmentpresents them, In addition to the ethical dilemmas associated with the use of cutting-edgetechnologies that displace the use of human labor, that is why this chapter aims to analyze theethical behavior of managers, for them the variables were addressed from the contributions ofCortina (2005), Rodriguez (2008), Garcia and Dolan (2003), among others. The methodologicalroute followed was descriptive, with a non-experimental design, the survey was appliedto a population of 27 employees of three metal-mechanical companies in the municipality ofCabimas. The instrument consisted of 14 items, it was validated by experts and the reliabilitytest was applied through the method of two halves and Pearson’s correction, which gave aresult of 0.97, indicating a high level of reliability. The results showed that the employees donot consider that the managers’ behavior fully adheres to the concept of ethical behavior, andthat the managers prefer to work with human resources rather than with a fully automatedplant. It was concluded that managers can improve their ethical behavior to what is expectedof an ethical manager.
