  Para recoger los drenajes de la Huerta de Sahués, el Río Zurca y la rambla de Balonga, abundantes en otras épocas, se construyó frente a Mahoya el azud de la Huerta, que data del siglo XVIII, y cuyas aguas, además de las propias del Río Chicamo, se utilizaban para el riego. A !nales del siglo XVIII se construyó el Azud de Mahoya -como así le llamaron- el cual todavía existe y que se conoce como Azud de la Huerta. Parte del sistema fue destruido por unas fuertes riadas y dejó de prestar su cometido a !nales del siglo XIX. Este azud fue recompuesto a base de sillares labrados de piedra arenisca, aprovechado sus aguas los molinos del Puente o de Gaona y de Santa Ana, por la margen izquierda, mientras que en su margen derecha se estableció un paso para carruajes y personas.

  To collect the drainage from the Huerta de Sahués, the Zurca River and the Balonga boulevard, abundant in other times, the Huerta weir was built in front of Mahoya, dating from the 18th century, and whose waters, in addition to those of the Chicamo River, were used for irrigation. At the end of the 18th century, the Azud de Mahoya was built -as it was called- which still exists and is known as the Azud de la Huerta. Part of the system was destroyed by strong %oods and ceased to serve its purpose at the end of the 19th century. #is dam was recomposed based on carved sandstone ashlars, the mills of Puente or Gaona and Santa Ana taking advantage of its waters, on the le$ bank, while on its right bank a passage was established for carriages and people
