This study evaluated the growth of Murciano-Granadina kids under two different rearing systems. 37 male kids were distributed radomly in two groups. 14 male kids were naturally reared with their mothers, suckling goat milk until weaning at 35 days of age (mix system). In the other group 23 male kids were artificially reared on milk replacer until 35 days of age (artificial system). The animals were weighed once weekly. Birth weight was similar in both treatments. The growth performance of kids was acceptable achieving average daily gain (ADG) values ranging between 159 g/d (artificial system) and 171 g/d (mix system), with no differences between rearing systems. In this study, as in others, the rearing system doesn´t affect the growth performance. It could be interesting do a complete study about the profit comparing both systems.
