Resumen alternativo:Emotions are a core component of psychological individual and collective processes. People develop learned mechanisms that allow them to regulate their emotions as a means to assure surviving, adaptation and integration to social life. Neuroscience has been exploring mechanisms by which people achieve control of their emotions in such a way to be sure of the personal and social quality oflife and, at the same time, to reduce the possibilities of experiencing the adverse effects of a poor regulation such as anxiety, depression, distress, addictive behavior and other inconvenient effects. The current writing contains a proposal of applying principles and strategies suggested by neuroscience to the purpose of emotion cognitive regulation in teamwork, and includes a general intervention strategy. Emotions regulation in teamwork is a necessary condition to create and maintain a participation, cooperation and collective productivity climate and, at the same time, reduce or eliminate the adverse effects ofconflict, strain, poor engagement and loss of cohesion, likely to arise from interactions among diverse people working to attain a collective purpose. To this aim several strategies of cognitive regulation of emotions are assessed and an intervention plan is elaborated in order to develop cognitive regulation abilities, to the individual and group level, and to promote teamwork's well-being and performance.
