    El humanismo de San Agustín en sus Confesiones, nos ayuda a entender la falta de razón de los humanismos ateos y agnósticos, que amputan la dimensión de apertura al infinito de la existencia humana. En sintonía con él, se reflexiona en este artículo sobre la posibilidad de integrar las aportaciones valiosas de los otros humanismos y de los avances científicos, dentro de un humanismo filosófico abierto al encuentro con el Dios cristiano, verdadero fundamento último de sentido y esperanza. Es posible concebir un humanismo integrador y esperanzador a principios del siglo XXI.

    The humanism of Saint Augustine in his Confessions helps us understand the lack of reason of atheistic and agnostic humanisms, which amputate the dimension of openness to the infinite of human existence. In tune with it, this article reflects on the possibility of integrating the valuable contributions of other humanisms and scientific advances, within a philosophical humanism open to the encounter with the Christian God, the true ultimate foundation of meaning and hope. It is possible to conceive of an inclusive and hopeful humanism at the beginning of the 21st century
