Artículo publicado en abril de 2001.La Calidad de Vida Percibida de 109 trabajadores de museos en el área metropolitana de Caracas fue examinada a través de un estudio descriptivo, partiendo del Modelo Conceptual desarrollado por Reimel y Muñoz (1990). Los contextos considerados fueron el Laboral, el Familiar y el Comunitario. Se empleó un cuestionario con ítemes distribuidos entre los niveles físico/material, de relaciones interpersonales y de actividades de dichos contextos. Los análisis se hicieron en función de las variables sociodemográficas edad, género y cargo. Los resultados revelaron una interferencia negativa del contexto laboral sobre el familiar. La prueba estadística ANOVA indica que, a nivel intergrupal, se asocian significativamente las variables tipo de Museo y género con los índices obtenidos de Calidad de Vida Laboral Percibida. Con la regresión múltiple se encontró que el contexto familiar ejerce el mayor peso sobre la Calidad de Vida Percibida General. Se concluyó que es necesaria la revisión de ciertas condiciones laborales que afectan la vida familiar de los trabajadores de museos, al igual que las condiciones físicas/materiales de los tres contextos, por cuanto estos generan los más altos índices de insatisfacción.AbstractPerceived quality of life was studied in two metropolitan museums in Caracas. 109 employees were included in the sample and analises took into account a conceptual model developed by Reimei and Mufioz (1999).The following contexts were explored: labor, family and community. A questionnaire was developed with items intended to measure three levels in every context: phisical/material, interpersonal relationships and activities. Also the following socio — demografic variables were taken into account: age, gender, job. Results obtained evidenced a negative interference of labor context upon family context. Anova also evidenced that, at an intergroup level, significative associations existed between museun, gender and perceived quality of life. Family context bad a major effect on perceived quality of life. The need of an improvement of labor conditions affecting family life was concluded, as well as certain improvement in phisical/material conditions, provided its incidence on satisfaction.
