Las aventuras de Alicia recrean un proceso de iniciación, mismo que intentamos hacer atravesar en este ensayo a un lector del Tercer Mundo, aunque haya nacido en el Primer Mundo, armado con el Principio del Tercero Incluido. Las paradojas, que pertenecen al pensamiento tanto como a la vida, afirman dos sentidos a la vez y ellas no son contradictorias, sino que hacen aflorar la contradicción. La paradoja aquí es pasión del pensamiento y al mismo tiempo pasión de la vida, porque ella lleva en su corazón, en su nuez, precisamente, el principio del tercero incluido y el devenir más bien que el ser. Mientras que el pensamiento habría asimilado el sentido de las paradojas y el principio del tercero incluido; por ejemplo, luego de que se descubrieran las geometrías no-euclidianas, resulta que en la vida común, en las instituciones, en la política y en la moral corriente sigue prevaleciendo una cultura heredada del antiguo Occidente, que da preponderancia al principio del tercero excluido y al puritanismo a él asociado, que niega las mezclas y trabaja con la partición, de cielo e infierno, de inocente y culpable, de Bien y Mal, de bestia o ángel, etc. Si es verdad que en el universo lo racional es apenas un conglomerado de islas minúsculas, el absurdo y el sinsentido tienen mucho sentido, aunque arriesgue ser escamoteado; en sus reinos hay mucha tela que cortar, habida cuenta de que estas entidades, sentido y sinsentido, no se excluyen tal como se excluyen lo verdadero y lo falso…
