The European Journal of Language Policy/Revue européenne de politique linguistique has always emphasised that we are alert to developments in language policy in the world outside Europe. The present issue reflects that openness and brings some refreshing perspectives from Australia, Asia and the Middle East. It also includes two articles with a European focus which will have wider resonance.
