  • This study analysed the effects of feeding lambs with tomato by-product during fattening period, from weaning to slaughter. Twenty merino lambs were assigned into two batches. (C0)(lambs unsupplemented) and (C1)(lambs supplemented).None zoothecnical variable is influenced, but with less by-product input in relation to straw, lambs reach slaughter weight at the same time. Carcass evaluation is similar in two cases. Physicochemical parameters from meat, such as colour, pH, fat content, water holding capacity, dry matter, ash and hematine contents were not affected by supplementation with tomato byproduct (p>0.05).There were no significant differences in lipid and protein oxidation) values neither in Warner-Bratzler and TPA assay neither in microbiological counts. In this context, tomato by-product supplementation could be potentially used as lambs feeding, since growth, carcass and meat quality is not negatively affected
