Chemical composition, in situ dry matter degradability of grape pomace and ruminal activity of sheep were studied in this work. Eigth ruminally canulated Churra ewes were assigned to two dietary treatments, control (C, without grape pomace) and grape pomace (GP, with 7,5% of grape pomace in the diet). Fiber and ether extract content were higher (p<0.001) and crude protein content and ruminal degradability were lower (P<0.001) in seeds than in pulps-skins. Ruminal pH was higher and ruminal N-NH3 was lower in sheep feed GP diet than C (P < 0.05). The nutritive value of grape pomace as a feed for ruminant diets is limited, however grape pomace could be interesting by their bioactive compounds.
