Resumen de Les arrels teològiques de la Reforma del segle XVI: entre la innovació i la continuïtat

In this article, we approach the emergence of Martin Luther’s theology of justification taking into account its medieval rooting. The internalization of the religious experience as a result of love’s news understandings, the erosion of the concept of infused grace, and the strong, compensatory component in Late-Medieval penitential practices are the elements that prepare Luther’s development of his original understanding of «divine justice». However, in doing so, we will see that continuities are present as much as discontinuities when it comes to the rise of the Reformation. The relationship between the Reformation and its medieval context, on the one hand, and the fluidity of borders among Protestantism and Catholicism, on the other, are the two main issues that we will be developing.

En aquest article, ens aproparem al sorgiment de la teologia de la justificació de Luter tenint en compte el context medieval en el què arrela. La interiorització de l’experiència religiosa arran de la nova comprensió de l’amor, l’erosió del concepte de gràcia infosa i el fort component retributiu en la pràctica penitencial baix-medieval són els elements que configuren l’escenari en el que Lu-ter i la seva original comprensió del terme «justícia divina» apareixen. En això, però, veurem que les continuïtats són tant o més presents que les discontinuï-tats quan es tracta de parlar de l’aflorament de la Reforma. L’emparentament de la Reforma amb el seu context medieval, per una banda, i la fluïdesa de les fronteres entre protestantisme i catolicisme, per l’altra, són les dues grans qüestions que es proposen.
