  Se propone una reflexión en torno a las interacciones que por distintos caminos y métodos suelen tener el arte y la ciencia. A veces, por motivos histórico-sociales o por acto de serendipia, los artistas suelen ofrecer obras que en cierta medida representan visual o gráficamente lo que en campos científicos se plantea. En ambos casos, se puede afirmar que se trata de rutas alternas por las que la condición humana transita. Una muestra notable de ello lo ofrecen las obras reticulares de la escultora alemano-venezolana Gego y los dibujos de mapas neuronales realizados primero por Ramón y Cajal y, posteriormente, por su discípulo Lorente de Nô. Pero ejemplos en donde el pensamiento científico y la expresión artística se tocan y se dan la mano hay muchos; lo importante aquí es mantener esos puentes disciplinares que nos permiten abundar y enriquecer nuestro conocimiento.

  A reflection is proposed around the interactions that art and science usually have through different paths and methods. Sometimes, for historical-social reasons or as an act of serendipity, artists tend to offer works that to a certain extent represent visually or graphically what is proposed in scientific fields. In both cases, it can be affirmed that they are alternative routes through which the human condition travels. A notable example of this is offered by the reticular works of the German-Venezuelan sculptor Gego and the drawings of neural maps made first by Ramón y Cajal and, later, by his disciple Lorente de Nô. But there are many examples where scientific thought and artistic expression touch and shake hands; the important thing here is to maintain those disciplinary bridges that allow us to abound and enrich our knowledge.
