Implications of Covid-19 on tourism sector in Poland: Its current state and perspectives for the future

    • The aim of this research note is to discuss issues related to the negative implications of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism sector in Poland. Especially, variables such as expenses of foreigntourists, percentage of accommodation base used as well as passenger air traffic in thefirstquarter of 2020 were analysed. In order to depict the impact of Covid-19 on the tourism sectorin Poland, prognosis of time series in environment R (forecasting time series ARIMA) was used.On the basis of research conducted, it may be conclude that Covid-19 pandemic largelyaffected the central part of Poland, which is often treated as a transit zone for foreign tourism.Conducted prognoses indicate that both the percentage of accommodation base used andpassenger air traffic in Poland will significantly drop in comparison to previous years
