Resumen de Un listado inédito de veinticuatros de Sevilla (1494-1590)

Obtenido a partir de un expediente nobiliario para la orden de Santiago, presento en este artículo un listado inédito de veinticuatros sevillanos, que abarca entre los años 1494 y 1590, cerca de un siglo en el que el cabildo hispalense evolucionará de un modo significativo: este listado nos muestra con claridad los diversos estratos que conformaron los grupos de poder en la ciudad, además del cambio social que se produjo en Sevilla tras la creación de la Casa de la Contratación, al acceder un elevado número de ricos mercaderes al consistorio, hasta entonces ocupado por linajes nobles (incluyendo a varios conversos de primera hora) que formaban en él desde la baja Edad Media. Se mencionan grupos familiares notables o significativos, presentes en años sucesivos en el Ayuntamiento, al igual que individuos específicos de interés, y se analiza la conflictividad del propio grupo, enfrentado –por ejemplo– en los años finales del siglo XVI con los fiscales de la Real Chancillería de Granada. Por último, transcribo dicho documento y lo vuelco en un listado posterior que facilita su comprensión.

Obtained from a nobiliary record for the order of Santiago, I present in this article an unpublished list of Sevillians Veinticuatros, which covers between the years 1494 and 1590, closed to a century in which the Seville Council will evolve in a significant way: this list clearly shows us the various strata that made up the power groups in the city, in addition to the social change that occurred in Seville after the creation of the Casa de la Contratación, when a high number of rich merchants entered the town hall, until then occupied by noble lineages (including several first-time conversos) who had been there since the late Middle Ages. Notable or significant family groups, present in successive years in the City Council, as well as specific individuals of interest are mentioned, and the conflict of the group itself is analyzed, faced –for example– in the final years of the 16th century with the prosecutors of the Real Chancillería of Granada. Finally, I transcribe this document and turn it into a later list that facilitates its understanding.
