  El objetivo de esta investigación documental consiste en problematizar sobre la ocupación actual de los estudios lingüísticos y literarios porque así lo pide la temprana era digital que estremece las comunicaciones conocidas. Para conseguirlo, revisa la evolución que han tenido sus explicaciones teóricas y varias de sus aplicaciones. Este escrito inicia exponiendo el origen humano de ambas facultades para, ulteriormente, pasar a sus explicaciones epistemológicas. En su extensión, enreda tres grandes giros: el discursivo, la literacidad y el escenario virtual, cuyo albor impone responsable especulación. Se organiza en cuatro apartados que se enfocan en estas discusiones: i) La evolución de la lengua y la literatura mientras la alfabetización empezaba su expansión. ii) La sacudida que la tecnología ha propiciado en asuntos de lengua y literatura, y sus enseñanzas. iii) La consideración del lenguaje como timón para favorecer las facultades expresivas humanas y las renovadas necesidades comunicacionales. Y iv) la complejidad de las tareas futuras. Tímidamente, cierra con preguntas y con la esperanza puesta en lo que la literatura puede hacer por la humanidad que deberá lidiar con la inteligencia artificial.

  The aim of this documentary research is to discuss the current occupation of linguistic and literary studies as demanded by the early digital era that challenges traditional means of communication. To achieve this, the evolution of theoretical explanations and several of their applications are reviewed. We begin with the human origin of both areas and then move on to their epistemological explanations. This work interweaves three great turns: the discursive, the literacy and the virtual scenario, whose early age imposes responsible educated speculation. Our discussion is divided in four sections: i) the evolution of language and literature as literacy began its expansion; ii) the overturn that technology has brought about in terms of language and literature, and its teachings; iii) the consideration of language as a rudder to favor human expressive faculties and renewed communicational needs; and iv) a reflection on the complexity of future tasks. In our final considerations we aim at presenting some questions with the hope of establishing the contributions of literature in order to deal with artificial intelligence.
