    O visível e o invisível, o futuro e o passado, o palácio e a montanha; olhar, tempo e espaço são para Foucault categorias fundamentais nas análises que ele desenvolve acerca da tragédia de Édipo-Rei. Compreendendo-a como uma obra estabelecida historicamente, e, por isso mesmo, uma dramaturgia, para o pensador francês, o texto sofocliano é o lugar da multiplicidade de saberes e poderes, que transitando entre os diferentes personagens, dos deuses aos escravos, revelam o trágico como um modo de saber transgressivo, proibido, temível, pois se opõe à conaturalidade e à harmonia do conhecimento, próprio da filosofia universalista de caráter racional.

    The visible and the invisible, the future and the past, the palace and the mountain; look, time and space are to Foucault's fundamental categories in the analyzes he develops about the tragedy of Oedipus the King. Understanding it as a historically established work, and therefore a dramaturgy, for the French thinker, the Sophoclean text is the place of the multiplicity of knowledge as well as powers, which transpose between the different characters, from the gods to the slaves, revealing the tragic as a transgressive, forbidden, and fearful way of knowing, since it opposes the connaturality and harmony of knowledge, proper to universalist philosophy of rational character.
