    Laurent Bordelon, escritor ilustrado, publicó en 1710, en dos partes, L’Histoire des imaginations extravagantes de Monsieur Oufle, un libro que relata las peripecias de un enloquecido por las lecturas de libros esotéricos que modulan su personalidad según los personajes y paradigmas que en ellos se presentan. Este nuevo quijote de lo fantástico y lo sobrenatural acomete diversas aventuras extravagantes y disparatadas en las que se pone de relieve la enorme distancia entre su percepción libresca del mundo y la realidad anodina que frustra sus aspiraciones. Más que encarnar un solo modelo, Oufle aspira a actualizar un compendio de mitos de esotéricos y fantásticos, metamorfoseándose en hombre-lobo, invocando a los demonios, temiendo a las brujas, asumiendo, en todo caso, el poder de lo sobrenatural sobre la conducta humana. Desde la mitocrítica y las teorías sobre lo fantástico analizaremos y evaluaremos este conglomerado de mitos esotéricos que dan forma a una clase de quijotismo única y original.

    Laurent Bordelon, a writer of the Enlightenment, published in 1710, in two parts, L’Histoire des imaginations extravagantes de Monsieur Oufle, a book that follows the adventures of a man driven mad by the readings of esoteric books who shapes his personality according to the characters and paradigms depicted in them. This new fantastic and supernatural quixote embarks on various extravagant and ludicrous adventures that show the immense distance between his bookish perception of the world and the anodyne reality that frustrates his aspirations. Not limiting himself to one model, Oufle aims to embody a whole set of esoteric and fantastic myths by becoming a man-wolf, invoking the devil, fearing the witches, thus demonstrating in all cases the power of the supernatural over human behaviour. From the standpoints of myth criticism and the theories of the fantastic I will analyse and evaluate this compendium of esoteric myths which give rise to a very unique and original kind of quixotism.
