Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar y describir la tradición textual de tres versiones judeoespañolas, escritas y orales, del cuento sobre el hombre que consiguió cambiar su fortuna educando a su suegro (930*J; Haboucha, 1992). Dado que la primera impresión conocida del relato se remonta al Osé Fele (1855), compilación en hebreo de cuentos moralizantes, también se atenderá a la confluencia de las versiones sefardíes con fuentes hebreas. Especialmente, el análisis pone atención en el personaje del demonio y en el tema de la fortuna desde la perspectiva de las diferentes tradiciones textuales que afectan a cada versión. Se recurre a las herramientas del análisis literario y del cuento folclórico y, en el caso de las fuentes orales, se hacen algunas observaciones desde la perspectiva de los estudios sobre el arte de narrar.

The aim of this article is to analyse and describe the textual tradition of three written and oral Judeo-Spanish versions of the tale of the man who managed to change his fortune by educating his father-in-law (930*J). Since the earliest known publication of the story dates back to the Osé Fele (1855), a Hebrew compilation of moralising tales, we will also look at the confluence of the Sephardic versions with Hebrew sources. The analysis focuses, in particular, on the character of the devil and the theme of fortune from the perspective of the different textual traditions that affect each version. The tools of literary analysis and folktale analysis are used and, in the case of oral sources, some observations are made from the perspective of studies on the art of storytelling.
