    La elección de sí mismo es la pieza clave de la teoría ética propuesta en el segundo volumen de O lo uno, o lo otro. El propósito de este trabajo es aclarar el sentido de esa elección mostrando su relación orgánica con otros temas centrales del pensamiento de Kierkegaard (como la verdad subjetiva, la vida estética o la desesperación) y con la estrategia de comunicación indirecta practicada por este autor. Al final del trabajo se aborda brevemente la relación entre el pensamiento filosófico de Kierkegaard y sus convicciones religiosas.

    The choice of oneself is the cornerstone of the ethical theory expounded in the second volume of Either/Or. The aim of this paper is to cast light on the meaning of this choice by showing its connection to other central topics in Kierkegaard’s thought (such as subjective truth, aesthetic life and despair) and to his strategy of indirect communication. The relationship between Kierkegaard’s philosophical thought and his religious beliefs is also considered at the end of the paper.
