Resumen de Traducción, Estructura Factorial y Confiabilidad de la Escala de Perspectiva del Tiempo Futuro para Adolescentes y Adultos Jóvenes (FTPS-AYA) en una Muestra Mexicana

  El constructo Perspectiva del Tiempo Futuro (PTF), representa aquellas ideas que elaboran las personas con relación a lo que harán y que influyen en las cogniciones, los sentimientos y las acciones dirigidas al tiempo psicológico futuro (Lyu & Huang, 2016), la PTF en adolescentes y adultos jóvenes resulta importante por las implicaciones que tiene sobre la construcción de la identidad, el estilo y su proyecto de vida. El objetivo del presente artículo fue traducir, analizar la estructura factorial y confiabilidad de la Escala de Perspectiva del Tiempo Futuro para Adolescentes y Adultos Jóvenes (FTPS-AYA) en una muestra mexicana. Se llevó a cabo el método de traducción-retraducción y posteriormente se confirmó la estructura factorial de la escala, con la participación de 192 jóvenes mexicanos del centro del país con edades de 18 a 35 años. Los resultados señalan que la adaptación al castellano de México tiene índices de ajuste aceptables que confirman la estructura de 6 dimensiones propuesta por los autores del instrumento, sin embargo, existen diferencias histórico-económicoculturales con el país de procedencia de la escala que resultan en variaciones en la consistencia interna, por lo que se recomienda realizar un profundo análisis de los reactivos para mejorar su fiabilidad.

  The Future Time Perspective (FTP) construct represents the ideas that people elaborate regarding what they will do and that influence cognition, feelings, and actions directed at future psychological time (Lyu & Huang, 2016). The FTP in adolescents and young adults is important due to the implications it has on the construction of identity, style, and life project. The aim of the present article was to translate and analyze the factor structure and reliability of the Future Time Perspective Scale for Adolescents and Young Adults (FTPS-AYA) in a Mexican sample. The translation-retranslation method was conducted and subsequently the factorial structure of the scale was confirmed, with the participation of 192 young Mexicans from the center of the country with ages between 18 and 35 years old. The results indicate that the adaptation to Mexican Spanish has satisfactory adjustment indexes that confirm the 6-dimensional structure proposed by the authors of the instrument. However, there are historical-economic-cultural differences with the country of origin of the scale that cause variations in the internal consistency, so it is recommended that an in-depth analysis of the items be conducted to improve their reliability.
