Resumen de Reflexiones sobre el personaje de Floriano en el Palmeirim de Inglaterra: evolución y reinterpretación entre Portugal e Italia

Este estudio se dedica a un análisis de la figura de Floriano del Desierto del Palmeirim de Inglaterra (1544), en concreto por lo que atañe a la evolución de su comportamiento amoroso en cuanto personaje que representa el prototipo del caballero seductor. Esta reflexión se desarrolla según una perspectiva comparativa que considera la interpretación de este personaje propuesta por Mambrino Roseo da Fabriano en su continuación (1559), que sigue las traducciones al italiano, realizadas por el mismo autor en 1553-1554, a partir de la versión castellana de la obra. El objetivo será, entonces, comprobar la eventual existencia de variantes en el retrato de Floriano, sobre todo en el juicio de su inclinación sentimental, destacando cómo, en el ámbito del mismo ciclo caballeresco, el mismo personaje puede ser reinterpretado a la luz de contextos culturales y objetivos narrativos distintos.

This study analyses the character of Floriano del Desierto from Palmeirim de Inglaterra (1544), specifically in regard to the evolution of his romantic behavior as the prototype of the seductive knight. Moreover, the portrait of Floriano will be examined through a comparative perspective that considers the interpretation of the character proposed by Mambrino Roseo da Fabriano in his sequel (1559), which follows the Italian translations, published by the same author in 1553-1554 and developed from the Spanish version of the novel. The overall objective of the study will therefore be to verify the eventual existence of variations in Floriano's portrait, especially in how his sentimental disposition is judged by different authors, highlighting how, in the same chivalric cycle, the same character can be reinterpreted from different social and cultural contexts cultural and with different narrative points of view.
