  • Resumen
    • The goal in the current work was to assess the possibility of the biological control of parasites affecting bovine livestock under organic rearing. Spores belonging to Mucor circinelloides and Arthrobotrys flagrans were jointly produced in a submerged culture. The efficacy of this mixture was determined against trematode eggs (Calicophoron daubneyi) and nematode larvae (strongyles). Fecal samples were collected from grazing cattle into two farms (20/each farm) and divided into 5 g batches. In the fecal pats receiving the fungal mixture, the viability of C. daubneyi-eggs reduced to 14-35%, while 2-4% of L3 strongyles were retrieved. These results underline the usefulness of a fungal blend against parasites affecting cattle maintained under organic systems.
