    En su obra de 1918 Psychische Kausalität después de describir la vivencia del “estado de reposo en Dios”, Edith Stein dice que el “único presupuesto para semejante renacimiento espiritual parece ser cierta capacidad receptiva”. El objetivo de este trabajo es explorar esta “capacidad receptiva” de la persona y el modo como se relaciona con la vida interior y con el ánimo o Gemüt que Stein explora en otras obras como son Der Aufbau der menslichen Person (1932/33), Potenz und Akt (1932) y Enliches und ewiges Sein (1936). Esta capacidad receptiva a su vez, como vamos a ver, se funda en la apertura hacia dentro de la persona, apertura que le permite ganar grados cada vez más profundos del conocimiento de sí misma. En este sentido, lo que se muestra en este trabajo es la relación que hay entre la vivencia religiosa y el alma de la persona.

    In her 1918 work Psychische Kausalität, after describing the experience of “the state of rest in God”, Edith Stein says that the “only presupposition for such a spiritual rebirth seems to be a certain receptive capacity”. The aim of this work is to explore this “receptive capacity” of the person and the way in which it relates to the inner life and to the moods or Gemüt that Stein explores in other works such as Der Aufbau der menslichen Person (1932/33), Potenz und Akt (1932) and Enliches und ewiges Sein (1936). This receptive capacity in turn, as we shall see, is based on the openness towards the inside of the person, openness that allows him to gain ever deeper degrees of self-knowledge. In this sense, what is shown in this work is the relationship between the religious experience and the soul of the person.
