    La gran importancia que hoy día se da al turismo y la forma en que éste se lleva a cabo, hace necesario analizar hasta qué punto favorece, en realidad, el desarrollo económico de una región y del país en general. Este estudio de Geografía turística analiza las alteraciones que el desarrollo del turismo va a provocar en el medio físico y en el humano tanto en el aspecto social como en el económico. Establece, además, la falta de integración entre la política de desarrollo turístico y una real y adecuada planeación integral de la que tanto se habla en nuestro país.

    The tourist activities are given a great importance to–day. It is thus necessary to analyse the extent of its participation in the economic development of the country. In this paper on Touristic Geography the autor studies the main changes that tourism is going to cause in the physical environment as much as in the social and economic aspects of human life of the Zihuatanejo region, and also stresses the lack of an adecuate planification of the economic development in which tourism should be one of the activities involved but not the only of importance.
