Resumen de Sobre la condición natural de la polis en la Política de Aristóteles

En este artículo se discuten algunas implicaciones de los famosos pasajes de la Política de Aristóteles, en los cuales se afirma que el ser humano es un animal político y que la polis es una de las entidades naturales. Frente a las acusaciones de incoherencia o circularidad, se defenderá la coherencia del planteamiento aristotélico, señalando los motivos por los que resulta compatible la condición natural de la polis con su carácter histórico y contingente. Además, se resaltará la importancia del lenguaje, la deliberación y la racionalidad en conjunto para el establecimiento de la polis que, a su vez, es la condición de posibilidad del pleno desarrollo de la naturaleza humana y de la felicidad.

This paper will discuss some implications of one the most famous passages of Aristotle’s Politics, in which the philosopher states that the human being is political by nature and that the polis is among the natural entities. Against the accusations of inconsistency or circularity, the coherence of the Aristotelian approach will be defended, pointing out the reasons why the natural condition of the polis is compatible with its historical and contingent character. In addition, the importance of language, deliberation and rationality as a whole for the establishment of such organisation will be highlighted. The polis is, in turn, the condition of the full development of human nature and of happiness.
