    • The European Directive CEE 2092/91 establishes the bases for the ecological agrarian production. Several vineyard plantations in Penedes (Barcelona, Spain) have modified the general agrarian practices to comply with this legislation and be certified as ecological grape. The -study compares through LCA methodology the standard and the ecological cultivation of the vineyard. Main difference between both kind of cultivation is use of pesticides and fertilizers, much more restricted in the ecological cultivation. Another difference is grape production, bigger in the standard cultivation. The results show a more reduced environmental impact for the ecological cultivation in every impact category studied. The impact categories with a bigger difference are Human Toxicity an Ecotoxicity.
