Se traza un panorama de la literatura proletaria en la España de la II República de la que deriva la nueva visión que propone la dramaturgia proletaria. Se destacan las reflexiones teóricas establecidas por Ramon J. Sender respecto al teatro proletario señalando cómo España asiste a la aparición de diversas orientaciones artísticas que intentan dar cuenta de los grandes debates del momento. En este sentido es en el que se analizan en el artículo las variantes que podemos encontrar en la literatura izquierdista y que abarcan un gran espectro. Dentro de estas corrientes, conseguir definir qué es y qué defiende la literatura proletaria y en concreto el teatro proletario supone reconocer los intereses de clase que subyacen en la literatura social, la literatura proletaria y la literatura revolucionaria. Así, no se trataría de narrar lo que pasa, en una exposición de hechos, sino de comprender en qué condiciones suceden esos hechos. Cuanto más se aproximen los textos a este objetivo, más cerca estarán de una estética claramente revolucionaria.

An overview of proletarian literature in the Spain of the Second Republic is drawn from which derives the new vision proposed by proletarian dramaturgy. The theoretical reflections established by Ramon J. Sender regarding proletarian theater are highlighted, pointing out how Spain is witnessing the appearance of various artistic orientations that try to account for the great debates of the moment. It is in this sense that the variants that we can find in leftist literature and that cover a wide spectrum are analyzed in the article. Within these currents, managing to define what proletarian literature is and what it defends, and specifically proletarian theater, means recognizing the class interests that underlie social literature, proletarian literature, and revolutionary literature. Thus, it would not be a question of narrating what happens, in an exposition of facts, but of understanding in what conditions those events happen. The closer the texts come to this objective, the closer they will be to a clearly revolutionary aesthetic.
