This survey aimed at identifying the way students perceive physical education (PE) classes in the context of integrated technical and high school courses. The survey made use of a qualitative approach. It sampled 74 students, aged between 14 and 17 years old, being 28 males and 46 females, who were enrolled in the first period of the course and who studied in the afternoon but had PE classes in the morning. Based on the data collected, one can say that Physical Education presents a quite controversial panorama. Those who admire and like the discipline defend it rather radically, while others do not consider it as an important discipline for the student’s development. It seems clear that PE is still disregarded as a discipline that contributes to the students’ integral development. Key words: Physical Education; Integral Development; Physical Activity.
AbstractThis survey aimed at identifying the way students perceive physical education (PE) classes in the context of integrated technical and high school courses.
