Movilización y resistencia en redes sociales frente al uso de metáforas bélicas para referirse a la pandemia del COVID-19: #ReframeCovid

    El objetivo de esta reflexión es realizar una aproximación a las campañas comunicacionales de resistencia y movilización en redes sociales frente al uso frecuente de metafóricas bélicas para aludir a la pandemia del covid-19, durante el 2020. Para ello, se aborda la metáfora como categoría lingüística, pero también social y cultural, así como el origen histórico del vínculo entre el uso de este tipo de metáforas y las enfermedades. Específicamente, se analiza la iniciativa colectiva #ReframeCovid que aún se encuentra vigente y cuyo análisis invita a pensar en marcos metafóricos alternativos frente a la retórica belicista que se condensa en la declaración “la guerra contra el coronavirus”. Se concluye que esta propuesta contribuyó a evidenciar que las expresiones utilizadas para aludir a la enfermedad y a la pandemia no son neutrales y que su uso pone de manifiesto las estructuras mentales del imaginario colectivo de cada sociedad.

    This paper aims to approach the communicational campaigns of resistance and mobilization against the frequent use of war metaphors to allude to covid-19 pandemic on social networks during 2020. With this purpose, metaphors are addressed as linguistic categories, but also as social and cultural artifacts, and consequently, this paper also analyses the historical origin of the link between the use of this type of metaphors and diseases. Its main interest centers around a collective initiative, #ReframeCovid, which is still in force and which analysis invites us to think about alternative metaphorical frameworks in the face of the warmongering rhetoric that is summarized in the declaration "the war against the coronavirus”. It is concluded that this proposal has contributed to show that the expressions used to refer to the disease and the pandemic are not neutral and that their use reveals the mental structures of the collective imagination of each society.
