Octubre 2019: una mirada hacia los “otros” actores movilizados, a partir del caso de Marea Roja, barra organizada de fútbol

    Octubre de 2019, para Ecuador, significó una transformación importante en aquellas dinámicas que se estudiaron hasta entonces dentro del campo de los movimientos sociales y de la acción colectiva, sobre todo en términos organizativos y de movilización de recursos, así como la presentación de otros repertorios por parte de nuevos actores sociales. Este ensayo explo-ratorio plantea la importancia de revisar todos los actores movilizados du-rante este ciclo de protestas y los matices que cada uno tuvo. Octubre fue heterogéneo, diverso y amplio. Muchos sectores no politizados o no iden-tificados con organizaciones políticas tradicionales se volcaron a la calle, entre ellos, el que ocupa este artículo: las barras organizadas del fútbol. Es-tos actores, que han sido identificados sobre todo con incidentes violentos y con el fútbol, toman otro rol en las protestas sociales y configuran un dis-curso propio dentro de su comprensión de la identidad de su club y de sus organizaciones a través de una identidad popular. La inminente alza de los precios de la gasolina produjo un impacto en ellos y en su decisión de salir a protestar, además de otras tensiones acumuladas durante dos años. La agenda de gobierno cambió drásticamente y, con ello, la tensión de muchos grupos. Octubre dio inicio a una posible transformación, que pretendemos indagar en este artículo y, a partir de esto, rastrear otros cambios en las diná-micas de acción colectiva de las barras, específicamente de la Marea Roja.

    During October 2019 in Ecuador happened an important roll-off into the traditional ways to read social movements, it meant an important transfor-mation in those dynamics that were studied about social movements and collective action, especially in terms of organization and mobilization of resources, as well as in the using of other repertoires by new social ac-tors. This exploratory essay raises the importance of returning to see all the actors mobilized during this cycle of protests and the different point of view and nuances that each one had. October was heterogeneous, diverse and broad; many sectors not politicized or not identified with traditional political organizations turned the street, among them the one that occupies this article: organized fan ́s soccer clubs, actors who have been identified above all with violent incidents and with soccer take another role in social protests and configure their own discourse within their understanding of the identity of their club and their organizations through a popular identity. The imminent rise in gasoline prices had an impact on them and on their deci-sion to go out and protest, but there were other tensions accumulated in two years where the government’s agenda changed drastically, October gave the beginning of a possible transformation, which we intend investigate in this article, and from these other changes in the dynamics of collective action of the bars are traced, specifically of the Red Tide
