Resumen de Mujeres artistas en las colecciones de los museos gallegos. Un análisis desde el presente.

  Este artículo analiza la presencia de mujeres artistas en las colecciones de los museos públicos gallegos, y busca contestar a la pregunta de si estas instituciones han reaccionado a los debates de los últimos anos en torno a la cuestión del género. Se plantea una investigación que combina datos de tipo cuantitativo y cualitativo, al considerar, además de las cifras, las actividades que acompañan la presentación de las colecciones y la percepción de los profesionales de los museos. Entendemos que la programación expositiva y las actividades son elementos significativos para la construcción de relatos. Finalmente, intentamos contestar a la pregunta de si la presencia cada vez mayor de actividades realizadas con perspectiva de género ha contribuido al aumento de obras de mujeres en las colecciones de arte de los museos gallegos. Como demuestran los datos recogidos, el porcentaje es aún muy bajo, pero en los últimos años se evidencia una tendencia al crecimiento, especialmente en instituciones de arte contemporáneo.

  This article analyses women artists’ presence in Galician public museums collections. It seeks to answer the question of whether these institutions have reacted to the debates of recent years around the issue of gender. Quantitative and qualitative research is proposed, considering, in addition to the numbers, the type of activities that accompany the presentation of art collections and the perception of museum professionals. We understand that the exhibition programming and the activities are significant elements that accompany the construction of narratives that the museums carry out. Finally, we try to answer whether the increasing presence of activities carried out with a gender perspective has contributed to the increase in works by women in the art collections of Galician museums. The data collected show that the percentage is still low, but in recent years there has been an upward trend, especially in contemporary art institutions.
