En el texto se reflexiona alrededor de la Educación para el Desarrollo Sostenible y los retos que ésta implica, a nivel de la Educación Superior Universitaria teniendo como base las experiencias, acciones y avances que refirieron docentes y directivos universitarios de países de cinco grandes regiones del mundo durante la Escuela de Verano “Desarrollo Sostenible: estrategia y objetivo para la Educación Superior”, realizada en la Universidad de Lüneburg, Alemania, y los resultados de la Conferencia Internacional de la UNESCO a los cinco años de la Década de Educación para el Desarrollo Sostenible (DESD 2005-2014) realizada en Bonn, Alemania del 31de marzo al 4 de abril de 2009.

In this text the author think about the Education for Sustainable Development and the challenges facing Higher Education, Technical, Technological and Professional Education. The article is based on the actions and advances on Education for Sustainable Development, that representatives of higher education institutions of countries all over five big regions of the world referred during the Summer School “Sustainable Development as Strategy and Aim for Higher Education” held in the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany and the results of the UNESCO Conference on the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, held in Bonn, Germany, 31st of Marsh - 4th of April, 2009.
