La irrupción de los itinerarios turísticos tiene su origen y mejor ejemplo en el Camino de Santiago. Pero las posibilidades de entender y disfrutar tanto de la Historia como de la Cultura de Europa no conocen límites. En tal contexto, una asociación francesa ha ideado y promovido Via Charlemagne. Constituye otra forma de reconocer nuestras raíces comunes al identificar los vínculos construidos hace 12 siglos y las variadas manifestaciones culturales emparentadas a lo largo de la Europa actual. El amplio espectro de la iniciativa supera el tamaño de esta publicación. Así, el contenido de este artículo está dedicado a los orígenes y posibilidades de Via Charlemagne, en un primer acercamiento a la zona de la costa atlántica.

The irruption of tourist itineraries has its best example near the Camino de Santiago one. But the possibilities to understand and enjoy both the History and the Culture of Europe have no limits. It is in this way that a French Association has thought and promoted Via Charlemagne. It constitutes another way to recognize our common roots by knowing about the linkages built 12 centuries ago and a variety of cultural manifestations along Europe nowadays. The wide spectrum of the initiative exceeds this publication size. So, the content of this article is devoted to the origins and possibilities of Via Charlemagne, into a first approach to the Atlantic Coast Area.
