Resumen de A Demonstration of Silver with Various Morphology Recovered from Wastewater

Xuanying Hu, Min Zhou, Xinyu Xu, Yidan Jing, Xiaomin Zhang

  • Silver and its compounds have been widely used in experimental teaching, industrial production, and other fields. In these processes, a large amount of wastewater containing silver is usually produced, which might contribute to environmental pollution. Therefore, recycling silver from wastewater not only has good economic value but also meets the requirements of sustainable development, which is also a hot topic emerging in chemical teaching. In this demonstration, polyaniline is used to efficiently recover silver ions from simulated wastewater. Through the regulation of time, temperature, and the morphology of polyaniline particles, a series of silver with rich morphology is obtained, showing the beauty of chemistry and arousing students’ interest in chemistry. This demonstration can cultivate audiences awareness of resource recycling and environmental protection and guide them to enjoy the fun of chemistry.
